
Pastor Landrum is anointed by God and acknowledged his call to preach God's Word in 2000. Pastor Landrum wrestled with his calling for approximately thirty-two years. His first call came in the rice paddies of Vietnam. He received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for heroism against hostile forces during his tour of duty.
From his early adult years, Pastor Landrum would be found in the presence of the shepherds of God. He would visit the sick and shut-in with his pastors, as well as, accompany them when they visited homes to take communion.
Early years of association with Greater St. James Temple started as an armor bearer for the founder of Greater St. James Temple, Bishop William H. Davis. Bishop Davis was the Bishop over the South Eastern Council which included South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
When Suffragan Bishop Craig High accepted a position at another church in January, 2008, he highly recommended Pastor Richard Landrum as his successor. On February 25, 2008, the congregation voted to install Elder James Richard Landrum as the fourth pastor of Greater St. James Temple.
Prior to being installed as Pastor, Elder Landrum was a Trustee on the Executive Board, Sunday School Teacher for the Singles Class, and former President of the Brotherhood and Usher Board. He is currently the Chairman of the License and Credential Department of for the South Carolina State Council.
Pastor Landrum holds the Ministerial and Ordination Certification from Aenon Bible College. He also holds an Associates Degree in Accounting from Cecil's Business College.
First Lady Carolyn B. Landrum is the third of ten children born to Lillie Foster Brewton and the late Hiawatha Brewton. She has served as the church financial secretary since 1986 and previously served as Assistant Superintendent of the Christian Education Department and was an Usher Board.
First lady Landrum received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedict College and a Master's Degree in Library Science from Atlanta University School of Library and Information Science. She has served as the Director of Children's Services Department at the Spartanburg County Public Libraries for the past 37 years.
Pastor Richard Landrum and First Lady Carolyn Landrum's goal is to carry on the vision that God has for Greater St. James Temple in the spirit of excellence. God has given Pastor Landrum the vision: "No One Left Behind." Their favorite scripture is Psalms 27:1.
